From university to primary education, it would seem that our public schools have completely lost their moral compass. Last week a journalism professor at the University of Kansas tweeted on his since deleted account:
His followup tweet to a challenger was that “God’s justice takes many forms.” The professor is currently on administrative leave. Journalism was formally a professional occupation.
In Virginia Beach, a 7th grader was suspended for a year for playing with an airsoft gun in his own yard. But supposedly the school claims imminent domain because it was something that happened on the way to a school bus stop.
Today, Fox News reports William Dorland, director of the University of Maryland’s honors college, sent out an email to students stating, “This year, we learned that it is legal to hunt down and kill American children in Florida” in order to stir up dialog. Sadly, the only dialog it stirs is hate.
The education system in the United States has lost focus and probably at the foot of government intervention. The desire is to train mindless droids to carry out the mission of those in power. Education should be challenging, create free-thinking, and be rewarding not a political centre paid for by public funds.
